Enquiry Process

Upon receiving your enquiry, it will be promptly placed into our pricing queue. Our commitment is to provide you with a tailored design proposal and quote within five business days.

Preparing Your Estimate

To ensure a seamless and efficient estimation process, we kindly request the following information:

  • Client Name / Company Name
  • Telephone Number
  • Email Address
  • Site Location
  • Description of Requirements: The more detailed your description, including inspirational images or sketches, the more tailored our estimate will be.
  • Height and Width of the Opening: Initial rough dimensions are perfectly acceptable at this stage.

The depth of detail you provide significantly enhances our ability to deliver an accurate and bespoke estimate. We look forward to crafting a solution that meets your exact needs.

Proceeding with the order

To initiate an order with Harrowford, we require the following steps to be completed:

  • A formal instruction to proceed via email, telephone, or a purchase order. We will provide a customer order form for you to complete and return. Our terms and conditions must be signed before we can move forward with your order.
  • A deposit of 50% of the total cost plus VAT must be made to commence the project.
  • Upon receiving the deposit, a project manager will be assigned to your project for direct communication, and a survey will be scheduled to take precise measurements for your installation.
  • Surveys are typically conducted within two weeks after we receive the deposit. On the day of the survey, our surveyor will contact you at least 30 minutes before their arrival. Surveys are carried out between 8am and 3pm, lasting about 45 minutes.
  • Based on the survey results and your specific requirements, we will issue Drawings for Approval (DFAs) that include all proposed details and sectional drawings. These need your review and approval before we can proceed with fabrication, or you may request changes.
  • Following DFA approval, we send a detailed set of drawings to our manufacturing team to start fabrication.
  • After the fabrication drawings are finalized, we will assess our fabrication schedule and suggest an installation date, typically within a week or so, without affecting overall lead times.
  • Payment Instalment: We will request the next payment instalment of 25% plus VAT upon proposing the installation or delivery date. Following this payment, we will allocate our installation team for your project as per the agreed schedule.
  • On the day of installation, the Harrowford installation team aims to arrive between 8-9am, depending on traffic, and will stay until the installation is completed.
  • Final Balance: A final invoice for the remaining 25% plus VAT will be issued once the installation is finished. This invoice is due upon completion.

Our survey services

Included in your Harrowford quote is a comprehensive survey, conducted by our expert surveyor. During the visit, the surveyor will evaluate the installation site, address any queries or specific needs you may have, and crucially, take exact measurements needed to craft your doors.

To facilitate this process and ensure that you are prepared, we’ve outlined our survey prerequisites below.

It is important to only schedule your survey when the site is ready for measurements. Often, surveying too early means that we are unable to get the information that we need to ensure an exact fit.

Consideration for the survey;

  • Check for any concealed pipes or wires in the opening, and inform the surveyor (are there any electrics or services that we need to be aware of?).
  • Consider the layout and furniture placement, as it will influence the door’s opening direction.
  • If there’s underfloor heating, the surveyor needs to note the depth and location of pipes to prevent installation damage.
  • Installation-ready skirting boards are ideal. If undecided, knowing their projected dimensions is helpful.
  • Ensure the structure where the doors will be fixed is solid—steel, timber, or brickwork are suitable; hollow walls are not.
  • If your new flooring isn’t installed yet, share its expected thickness, including any underlay, with the surveyor.

Please note, the quoted price covers one survey visit. To avoid delays and additional costs (£245+VAT), ensure your site is ready for this crucial step. An unsuccessful survey, where measurements cannot be taken, means a longer wait and extra fees for rescheduling.
